Why Grow Heirlooms?
Preserving the past to create gardens with a story.
Gardens have changed. The days of quick color have overtaken the charm of the naturalist gardens of the past.
As a child, I formed an unlikely friendship with an elderly Rabbi and his wife. I spent hours in their rose gardens. It was truly a magical place, full of imagination, wildlife, beauty and stories. Many of their roses came from original rose clippings from their family. Roots run deep with gardeners. Rabbi and Mrs. Horowitz taught me the importance of preserving the past, having a passion for flowers, and having gardens with a story.
Heirloom Bulbs are my passion and my story. For every bulb I have found and rescued, I have a deep rooted pleasure in preserving its past for years to come. I have made many friendships with older gardeners who graciously shared their own heirloom bulbs and stories. Many of these bulbs have outlived their original gardeners, and I am pleased to share these garden treasures with you.
Each Heirloom Bulb has a story. May your gardens created be filled with stories of your own. Happy Gardening, my friends!
